We lost our son, Paul, when he was 30-years-old. This was an unbelievable shock and sorrow for our family. Sometime later our remaining children commissioned Jeff John to sculpt their brother as a young boy fishing, using a photo as reference. The result was a beautiful sculpture that we have displayed in our home. It is a sweet reminder of our love and our hope to be with our son again.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process to commission a sculpture?

Commissioned art starts with the client. Whether this is an individual or a committee, Jeff John first gathers input until they reach a shared vision. For public projects, this research may involve collaborations with designers, architects, and landscape architects, as needed.

After research is complete, Jeff presents a detailed concept drawing to the client for approval. Then the sculpting begins. The final clay sculpture is shown to the client for approval before being cast in bronze. Jeff also assists with placement and installation of artwork, as required. His involvement and availability are guaranteed throughout the artistic process.

How long does it take to create a bronze sculpture?

Allow for 6 months after approval of the concept drawing for small to mid-size sculptures. For monuments (anything larger than 4 feet tall) we like to allow 12 months as it typically takes 6 months to create the piece in clay, and an additional 6 months to cast the piece in bronze.

How do I purchase a sculpture?

Contact Jeff directly at jeffjohnsculptures@gmail.com. For commissions, a 50% deposit is required up-front and the balance due when the sculpture is complete, before it leaves the studio or foundry.
